Sheer unadulterated beauty of the day

I have been in insane writing mode all morning. There appear to be 2231 more words. My brain feels as if someone has put it in a cocktail shaker and tried to turn it into a daiquiri. So, for necessary calming and soothing, I turn to Samuel Barber.

This version of his adagio is conducted by Leonard Bernstein. I think it is the most beautiful version of it I have ever heard, so delicate and tentative and fine. This piece can sometimes be played in a slightly bombastic way - strings, strings, beauty, beauty. This one knows all about treading lightly.
